Easy Riders in Brainerd is really a great bike shop. They carry just about everything bike related and have a great selection of gear from medium to high end. The people that work there are super helpful and really into bikes! They know the products they sell very well.
After leaving I called my local bicycle shop and asked if they had any of the shims. He said, "Unfortunately not on hand, but if you want I can order them and have them here by tomorrow." He made sure I needed just the shims and not the entire hitch (all over the phone without having to point and draw pictures)
I was passing through one day and decided to stop and see if they had any shims for an Adams Trail-A-Bike. I talked to 3 different people. The first had absolutely no idea what a Trail-A-Bike was until i walked him to one on display. The second guy tried to sell me a whole bike when all I needed was the plastic shims. The third guy wanted to sell me the whole hitch but would have to order it and have it in about a week. I said, "No thanks, I'm just passing through." He then acted like I was the biggest waste of time.
I returned for a 30 day check up and they went through the bike thoroughly.
The workers here are somewhat rude, pushy, and treat you badly if you are "just looking" or have minor questions. They also have no product knowledge of things they have on hand. I would not recommend this place to even my arch nemesis.
As a wondering bike guide/instructor, bike shops are my jam. This shop has everything you could need. Knowledge, customer service and lots of stuff to help you have fun.
I really wish I had a bike shop this good in my town. If you are considering a Trek, you owe it to yourself to visit their shop. I can't say enough about what a great shop it is.
We went to get our skates sharpened here and the employees were incredibly rude. When we asked how long it would take, they replied "I don't know. I'll see after you pay." They then said it would take 2 hours to sharpen them when it's suppose to take like 10 minutes. I understand that they said they have other things to work on but they were all standing around doing nothing and clearly goofing around.
I purchased a Trek Farley EX 8 at Easy Riders and the bike is just flat out awesome. It is truly a 4 season bike. I traveled two hours to their shop to test ride the bike before I bought it. Before I arrived they had taken the the time to set the bike up for my height and weight. They were super helpful in describing all the features and settings for the bike.
Worst bike shop in Minnesota. If you don't have a Trek, the owner will tell you your bike is garbage and you're an idiot for buying it. Say ANYTHING negative about Trek and he will throw a tantrum, stop "helping" you and LITERALLY walk away.
